The online Game "Dice Wars" generates random maps to play the game on.
After the game is over it shows the finished game results on the map that you can save as a PNG pic.
I use the pics to create quick maps for an RPG game.
I have worked on a quick and somewhat easy system to turn the game map into a RPG map.
01 save the map from the online game Dice wars game map after game; open in Photoshop, delete the game tags at the bottom of the pic.
02 select the map; inverse selection; guassian blur at setting 30
04 use liquefy filter to remove jagged edges.
05 polish up edges with smudge tool.
06 Image Adjust filter; Hue/Saturation; Hue -180, Brightness -30 settings.
07 Image Adjust filter: Brightness/Contrast; Brightness -15, Contrast +40.
08 Artistic Filter; Poster edges.
09 Multiple Layers of map and a layer for the blue.
10 Flatten and adjust to taste.
This is the system I quickly came up with to create an easy RPG maps - I get creative with it.
Have fun coming up with your own maps.
This is an example of how much I go with creating an RPG map.
